Officials of three nations U.S., U.K., and Canada, says a hacking group backed by Russians officials is trying to steal the data about the Vaccine of Coronavirus (COVID-19), Which these three nations are racing to develop.
However, it is unclear whether the research facilities have been damaged, but the security officials say that the attacks are on-going.
The security officer of U.K. Security minister James Brokenshire has said Britain is sure more than 95% that Russians state officials backed these attacks.
In an interview with B.B.C. Radio 4’s Today program, Brokenshire said that these attacks are certainly part of Russians officials later U.S. and Canadian officials issued thier statements.
On Thursday, Britain’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) also said that multiples countries Vaccine and theuropathic facilities are being targeted by the group known as APT29- also known as “Cozy Bear.” Controlled by Russia’s elite S.V.R. intelligence agency were responsible for them.
American intelligence officials said the Russians were stealing thier data to develop thier own Vaccine of Covid-19 quickly not to sabotage other nation’s efforts of developing the Vaccine.
Russian hackers are targeting using malware and fraudulent emails to trick thier employees and somehow gain information about medical chains.
“It is completely unacceptable that the Russian Intelligence Services are targeting those working to combat the coronavirus pandemic,” U.K. Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said in a statement.
Though the Kremlin spokesmen Dmitry Peskov rejected these allegations on Thursday, said the state-owned TASS news agency.
These accusations are also some latest examples of the U.S and its allies to accuse foreign adversaries of breaches and cyberattacks. The American officials have also warned about such attacks from China and Iran to steal information about the Vaccine. However, it is an ambiguity that Moscow takes no time at denying this responsibility as it did on Thursday.
